I’m on the road

Over this past weekend I got my first car.. Yes, you read that right, my First car. after having my license for 14 years I finally got a car! I lived in the city for 10 years right after I got my license, and I did the occasional driving (in someone else’s car) and I’ve rented cars (at a hefty price because I also had to purchase their insurance for the weekend) But this weekend, Thanks to my best friend and her hubby getting a new car, they graciously gave me His old car. I went last week and got car insurance and then went to DMV on Friday and got license plates and registration and all that fun stuff (and damn does DMV get you with the fees!)

It’s great that I don’t have to take the bus anymore, no more walking through the rain and snow to school with the kid and no more hour long trips to just get home (15 minute drive people, yeah!) I can drop the kid off at camp and be at work in 5 minutes instead of 45 and 2 buses later.

Doesn't it feel great not to be on a schedule and get up and go when you want. I am so happy for you.
